Recap | IJF2025

International Job Fair (IJF 2025), held on 17 October 2025, brought together more than 1,000 participants, united 30 companies, and offered 3 hands-on workshops + 2 fireside chat. Organized by SCOLAR Network and BeHive as part of HICOOL Global Entrepreneur Summit. The event brought together employers, student and city communities, as well as a broad audience of international talent, overseas returnees, and local job seekers. The program featured a busy employer expo hall, a daytime fireside chat with business leaders, and two back-to-back roadshows for companies and for community partners. Shuttles from Shaoyaoju and Wudaokou brought attendees to the venue, ensuring a steady flow of visitors.

Let’s take a look at what transpired at IJF2025!

Workshop 1:

Interview Skills for Global Careers

A fast-paced, hands-on session where participants practiced live introductions and learned a practical toolkit for interviews: the BEAC mini self-intro, STAR for behavioral answers, and the BDA cycle (before–during–after). Petros also shared advanced touches such as word-cloud tailoring from job descriptions, using a brief pause before answering, and a simple notebook cue to leave a sharper impression.

Workshop 2:

LinkedIn’s AI Solutions

LinkedIn demonstrated its AI-driven talent ecosystem. Recruiter and Talent Insights use skills graphs and market signals to surface stronger candidates and forecast hiring trends. For job seekers, a skills-first approach reveals adjacent opportunities, while LinkedIn Learning closes gaps through targeted upskilling.

Workshop 3:

Employment Trends from Zhaopin

A clear snapshot of China’s market in motion: accelerating demand in AI, new-energy vehicles, and advanced manufacturing; remote and hybrid work as a lasting norm; and a persistent skills mismatch that keeps reskilling front and center.

Fireside chat:

The Power of Self-Awareness

Eric made the human case for performance: self-awareness as a career compass and strengths-based roles as the lever for agile, motivated teams. People do their best work when responsibilities align with what they naturally do well.

Lunchtime Fireside Chat: Building a Career in China

A concise field guide for foreign students and young professionals. Olesia, an international-development professional with 10+ years in China (including AIIB), urged attendees to learn China’s ecosystem, pair Mandarin with relevant experience, and use a cross-cultural edge to help companies go global. Careers here reward initiative: prove your value, build genuine relationships, leverage WeChat for visibility, and start local because small projects open big doors. “China rewards curiosity, consistency, and community.”

On the floor

Beyond the sessions, the exhibition hall stayed lively from morning to late afternoon. Company representatives pitched open roles during the Company Roadshow, including Connect Mandarin, HiredChina, Oasis Project, The Company Doctor, Pagsmile, and HANDY, prompting instant QR scans and same-day follow-ups at their booths. The Community Partners Roadshow then turned the stage into a parade of ways to join and contribute: Beijing Fun, THURSSA, KENSAB, KESCA, BEN, SCOLAR, BeHive, Fish Belly White, ACYA, and Global Shapers Beijing each offered a compact 1–2 minute snapshot with direct paths to get involved. For attendees, the rhythm was simple and effective: hear the pitch, scan the code, start the conversation.

The atmosphere in a word: momentum

Throughout the day, conversations at the booths never let up: quick chats turned into on-the-spot interviews, and breaks morphed into impromptu mentoring sessions. And yes, the free pizza kept flowing, hot boxes arrived in waves, and the lounge instantly turned into a networking corner. The movement around the hall clearly showed how participants shifted from learning on stage to taking action on the expo floor. After the program concluded, the organizers thanked the companies, communities, media, and volunteers, followed by a light dance session where guests learned the basic steps of Latin dances and bachata.
