SCOLAR Nizhny Novgorod Hub Delegation Visits China to Promote Youth Diplomacy and Humanitarian Cooperation

From July 4 to 6, 2026, a delegation from SCOLAR Nizhny Novgorod hub, visited Beijing for a dedicated exchange program. The delegation held meetings with Victoria Khu, Co-founder and President of SCOLAR, visited the Russian Cultural Center in Beijing, toured Beijing Language and Culture University, and visited the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, gaining an immersive understanding of the achievements in Russia-China humanitarian exchanges and the multilateral diplomatic mechanisms of the SCO. The delegation was led by Prof. Kolobova Svetlana Anatolyevna, Director of the Higher School of International Relations and World Politics at Nizhny Novgorod State Linguistic University and mentor of SCOLAR Nizhny Novgorod hub. The group also included senior professors and young scholars from Luhansk State University and Donetsk National University of Economics and Trade. The visit focused on practical research into Russia-China humanitarian cooperation and the functioning of the SCO’s multilateral mechanisms.

On July 4, the delegation met with president of SCOLAR Network Ms. Victoria Khu. Prof. Kolobova Svetlana Anatolyevna expressed high appreciation for Victoria’s long-term support and assistance. Victoria Khu, in turn, commended the active work of the Nizhny Novgorod branch. Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on the current state of SCOLAR’s development, project implementation, and future plans.

That afternoon, the delegation visited the Russian Cultural Center in Beijing. Center staff provided a comprehensive overview of the center’s departmental functions, its cultural, educational, and information projects, as well as opportunities for Russian language learning and the promotion of Russian education in China. The two sides focused on prospects for future cooperation, exchanging views on joint youth initiatives, cultural exchange programs, and educational collaboration.

On the morning of July 6, the delegation visited Beijing Language and Culture University and held a cordial meeting with Mr. Guo Yuxin from the International Student Office. Both sides discussed student exchanges, joint training programs, and language education cooperation, reaching preliminary agreements. The three academic mentors of the delegation expressed hope for establishing closer ties with the university in the future.

In the afternoon, the delegation visited the SCO Secretariat in Beijing. For the students and mentors participating, it was their first time at the SCO Secretariat—a valuable opportunity to observe the daily operations of this key international organization on the Eurasian continent.

This visit not only offered young researchers and future diplomats a valuable experiential learning opportunity but also further advanced youth exchanges and humanitarian cooperation within the SCO framework, injecting new vitality into deepening mutual understanding and friendship among member states.
