On 21 February, the Model SCO will take place in Bishkek — a youth academic simulation of meetings of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation bodies. During the simulation, participants will act as official delegates of member states and represent the national interests of their countries in the format of real diplomatic negotiations.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) is a permanent intergovernmental international organisation founded on 15 June 2001 in Shanghai. Today, it brings together Eurasian states to strengthen mutual trust, good-neighbourly relations, and cooperation in political, economic, scientific, educational, and cultural fields, based on the principles of the “Shanghai Spirit”.

Delegate Selection
Selection is conducted on a competitive basis.
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
— age 18–25
— mandatory student status (student IDs will be checked upon entry)
— interest in international relations, diplomacy, regional and global politics
— basic understanding of SCO activities and the current international agenda
— readiness to represent the position of an SCO member state
— argumentation, analytical thinking, and public speaking skills (an advantage)
— responsibility, discipline, and compliance with the rules of the model
— motivation for academic and professional development
