On July 22, 2024, SCOLAR Minsk hub was officially opened at the Faculty of International Relations of the Belarusian State University (BSU). SCOLAR Minsk hub became the first hub of SCOLAR in Belarus and the 17th hub across the SCO region.
At the opening ceremony, welcoming remarks were delivered by Viktor Kochin, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Internationalization of Education at BSU, Sergey Kanavskiy, Executive Secretary of the SCO Business Council, and Victoria Khu, Co-founder and President of SCOLAR Network.
Vadim Senyuta, Head of the China and Asia-Pacific Cooperation Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, noted that SCOLAR represents one of the promising directions within the SCO Family, and the establishment of the hub at BSU signifies an important milestone.
Evgeniy Ryabtsev, Advisor at the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the People’s Republic of China, added: “The opening of the SCOLAR hub in Minsk highlights Belarus’s active participation in the SCO activities. The Embassy acknowledges the work of SCOLAR members and expressed confidence in the successful of the Platform’s mission following Belarus’s official accession to the SCO.”
During the opening ceremony, a cooperation agreement between BSU and SCOLAR Network was successfully signed.
In conclusion, Pavel Boltochko, Deputy Dean of BSU, marked that the opening of the SCOLAR Minsk hub represents an important step in developing Belarus’s youth potential and expressed gratitude for the support.
