What is Model SCO?

“Model SCO ” (MSCO) is an educational conference, which imitates SCO meetings and summits and is run on by students and young professionals interested in studying and researching the functions and operations of the SCO. The conference pursues educational purposes and gives delegates an opportunity to study International relations and diplomacy, improve public speaking and writing skills, meet international students from other SCO countries, work in a team, and learn win-win approaches, lead discussions and develop new ideas and projects.

 

What is a SCOLAR Network ?

SCOLAR Network is a platform aimed at bringing together young leaders from 18 Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) countries to strengthen connectivity, promote dialogue, and contribute to regional development. Since 2018, SCOLAR has been organizing “Model SCO ” for youth from the SCO countries.

 

NKUMUN and SCOLAR Network invite students of Nankai University to participate in the “Model SCO” Youth Conference. The event will take place on 16 May, 2021 (Sunday). The conference will model the SCO Heads of States Council, discussing the topic “The 20th Anniversary of the SCO: Experience of Cultural Exchange and Blueprint for the Future.”

  •  18 April Online training: SCO and Model SCO and Team formation
  • 25 April, Sun Online training for Chair country and Secretary General
  • 5 May Deadline for submission of Position Papers
  • 12 May Draft of the Joint Declaration
  •  15 May MSCO Rehearsal
  • 16 May, Sun“Model SCO” Youth Conference

 

Eligibility:

  1. Currently enrolled students of Nankai University from any majors,degrees, and citizenships.
  2.  From the selection process, the committee will select 2 delegates to represent each member state and 1 delegate to represent SCO Secretary General, forming 17 delegates for the conference.
