On April 27, 2025, workshop with the topic “Becoming a Global Communicator: From Theory to Practice” was jointly held by Anhui University and SCOLAR Network.
The keynote speaker of the workshop was Petros Djakouris, co-founder of BeHive. With his extensive cross-cultural experience and solid professional background, Petros laid a strong theoretical and practical foundation for the training. His years of work experience across Europe and China, along with his fluency in Mandarin, allowed him to offer deep insights into navigating cultural differences in the workplace and fostering seamless communication.
Petros opened the session with vivid stories from his hometown, serving as a bridge to introduce the uniqueness and diversity of global cultures. He emphasized that cultural differences are not mistakes but unique features to be valued. He provided an in-depth analysis of key cultural differences in international communication and shared effective strategies for working with people from diverse backgrounds.
By incorporating the MBTI personality test, he helped each participant better understand their own communication style, clearly identifying strengths and growth areas. Tools like Erin Meyer’s The Culture Map further revealed how communication differs across cultural contexts, enabling participants to adapt their approaches accordingly. His approachable and pragmatic teaching style, paired with practical tools such as MBTI and HRDA, ensured the session was both evidence-based and closely aligned with real-world practice.
This workshop not only broadened the international outlook of participating youth but also equipped them with practical cross-cultural communication skills. It deepened their understanding of the importance of cultivating global competence in a rapidly globalizing world.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Mr. Petros for his generous sharing and to all the young representatives who took part. This training will undoubtedly become a cherished memory for all involved. As we look to the future, we are inspired to grow into more capable and compassionate global communicators, ready to contribute to a more peaceful and interconnected world.
