Youth Leaders Forum in Nizhny Novgorod

On November 14–15, 2025, the Nizhny Novgorod Region hosted the International Forum of Youth Leaders of the SCO Сountries. The event took place at the Corporate University of the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

The Forum was implemented with the support of the Council of Young Diplomats of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, SCOLAR Network, the Administration of the City of Nizhny Novgorod, the “Young Nizhny” City Youth Projects Competition, and the Federal Project of the Women’s Movement of the United Russia Party entitled “My Mentors.” The organizer of the Forum was Nizhny Novgorod State Linguistic University named after N.A. Dobrolyubov (NGLU).

The program of the Forum included an analytical review of the outcomes of the 2025 SCO Heads of State Summit in Tianjin and the Tianjin Declaration — including the “SCO Development Strategy until 2035” and the “Global Governance Initiative.” Participants also developed youth-driven proposals for implementing these strategic documents, taking into account the regional context of the Nizhny Novgorod Region and the current framework of multilateral youth cooperation within the SCO.

The purpose of the Forum was to expand opportunities for integrating youth initiatives of the SCO member states in the fields of information security, preservation of traditional values, and the development of youth entrepreneurship and tourism — including educational, scientific, cultural-historical, environmental, and industrial areas.

The Forum’s expert panel included representatives of SCO member states and international specialists in international relations.

The event brought together 120 young leaders — students from Russia, China, India, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Iran, Mongolia, Türkiye, Armenia, and Azerbaijan.

The Forum became an important milestone in strengthening international youth cooperation and shaping a shared agenda for the future generation of SCO leaders.
