APEC Summit: Victoria Khu’s Interview for “APEC 2023 Dialogue”

CEO of SCOLAR, Victoria Khu, gave an interview about what it means to be a social entrepreneur to the “APEC 2023 Dialogue”, the collaboration between MEBO International and San Francisco’s media MarinaTimes. Victoria’s interview was broadcasted at the venues of the recently concluded APEC Summit.

San Francisco just hosted the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders’ Week 2023 with the theme of “Creating a Resilient and Sustainable Future for All.” 

Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) is a regional economic forum established in 1989 to leverage the growing interdependence of the Asia-Pacific. APEC’s 21 members aim to create greater prosperity for the people of the region by promoting balanced, inclusive, sustainable, innovative and secure growth and by accelerating regional economic integration.

APEC meetings throughout this year have focused on regional economic issues, including sustainability, digitalization, women’s economic empowerment, trade facilitation, energy security, food security, and health. 

This year’s APEC summit gathered governmental leaders from US and China, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Indonesia’s President Joko Widodo and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. 

In addition, the 2023 APEC Summit was attended by global business leaders such as X (formerly Twitter) owner Elon Musk, Satya Nadella (CEO of Microsoft), Sundar Pichai (CEO of Google Inc.) and so on, at the APEC CEO Summit. The estimated total attendance of participants reached 20,000 individuals from various sectors.
