On October 30, SCOLAR Shanghai hub and China Crossroads held a joint event with the Founder and CEO of the largest platform of public lectures in Shanghai, Frank Tsai.
China Crossroads hosts senior figures in business and international relations. Frank Tsai previously worked at Control Risks and The Economist Intelligence Unit, teaches at the Emlyon Business School and Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, and has regularly appeared in global media like Bloomberg, the BBC, and CNN.
Frank shared with the audience the history of creating a successful project and gave practical advice on how to build a large community and where a young specialist should start.
Since 2010, the platform China Crossroads has organized more than 600 public talks and created 4 brand events. China Crossroads is also supported by prominent corporate members.
Frank presented a clear vision of management and public relations tactics for promoting the project and pointed out possible challenges that need to be taken into consideration while designing the project plan.
Insights about the meaning and benefits of the project became especially valuable to the audience. China Crossroads today is a space where intellectuals from different backgrounds create new meanings, express different points of view, and strive for the common development of the community by providing networking and career opportunities.
As Frank perfectly stated in this speech, “always offer more to others, and don’t worry if they offer less.” This rule allowed the project to develop into the booming largest platform of public lectures in Shanghai.
