Recap event | I Bishkek Model SO

On February 21, 2026, the I Bishkek Model SCO took place as an educational platform dedicated to discussing key areas of cooperation within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation. The event was organized by SCOLAR Network in partnership with the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic named after K. Dikambaev.

The conference theme, “Interaction of SCO Member States in the Field of Education, Science and Innovation, Including the Development of Human Capital and Youth Cooperation,” set the tone for the discussions and highlighted the importance of strengthening humanitarian collaboration within the SCO framework.

Ruslan Maratbekovich Rakhimov — Rector of the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic named after K. Dikambaev; Victoria Khu — President of SCOLAR Network; Almaz Kamchybekovich Bukalaev — SCO National Coordinator in the Kyrgyz Republic; Sergey Vadimovich Kanavskiy — Executive Secretary of the SCO Business Council; Taalaibek Esenbekovich Dayirbekov — Deputy of the Bishkek City Council and Ex-director of the National Part of the SCO Youth Council; Kubat Abdirakhimovich Elebesov — Coordinator of the National Part of the SCO Youth Council of the Kyrgyz Republic; Dauren Kumarhanovich Dyusebayev — Vice President of the Kazakh-American University; Kabuljon Kasimovich Sabirov — Director of the SCO Center for Public Diplomacy in Uzbekistan; Elena Anatolyevna Dostanko — Dean of the Faculty of International Relations of the Belarusian State University; Hu Xuewen — Director of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange of Anhui University.

The Model SCO brought together 22 delegates from three countries — Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan. Participants engaged in a simulation format, discussing prospects for enhanced cooperation in education, science, and innovation, the development of academic mobility, joint research initiatives, and the strengthening of youth engagement within the SCO framework.

Following the event, participants highlighted the strong organizational level and the overall impact of the experience:

Participant from Kazakhstan, Erasyl, who served as Head of the Uzbekistan delegation, expressed his sincere gratitude to the organizers, volunteers, and fellow participants for delivering a large-scale international event at a high professional level. He particularly emphasized the important role of the organizing team in fostering international exchange among neighboring countries. According to him, the Model provided not only valuable practical experience but also the opportunity to build strong and lasting friendships. As it was his first visit to the Kyrgyz Republic, he noted that the country left only positive and warm impressions thanks to the hospitality and support of the host side.

A participant from Uzbekistan and delegate of the SCO Secretariat, Ulzira, thanked the organizers for the opportunity to become part of the Bishkek Model SCO, describing her participation as an important and inspiring experience. She highlighted the value of the knowledge gained, the professional connections established, and the memorable emotions experienced during the event, adding that Bishkek left a particularly warm place in her heart.

Another testimonial focused on the high level of preparation and organization of the Model. A delegate representing the People’s Republic of China described the event as one of the strongest models held during the year. Special appreciation was extended to the representatives of the Diplomatic Academy for the honor of the invitation and for consistently maintaining exceptional organizational standards. The delegate also commended the professionalism of the delegations and the Secretariat, noting that throughout the sessions participants demonstrated the qualities of true diplomats capable of достойно representing the interests of their countries.

The I Bishkek Model SCO became an important platform for constructive dialogue, exchange of ideas, and the development of practical recommendations aimed at advancing human capital development and youth cooperation among SCO member states.
