SCOLAR Hub | SCOLAR Almaty Candidate Hub Held the Model SCO at KAU

On May 19, 2026, the ModelSCO  was held at Kazakh-American University, organized by the KAU Diplomatic Club with the support of SCOLAR Network as part of the project activities of SCOLAR Almaty Candidate Hub.

Session focused on the topic: “SCO Transport Corridors: An Architecture for Sustainable Development”.  Participants discussed the development of Eurasian transport connectivity, regional cooperation, digitalization of logistics, improvement of transit route efficiency, and the greening of transport infrastructure.

This Model  SCO brought together 20 students: 10 delegates representing SCO member states and 10 advisors. During the session, participants delivered country statements, engaged in diplomatic negotiations, discussed project-based initiatives, and worked on developing practical and implementation-oriented solutions.

As a result of the committee’s work, delegates reached consensus on several key initiatives and adopted resolutions, including:

— establishment of a Unified SCO Coordination Council on Transport Corridors;

— creation of the “Smart Transit SCO” digital platform;

— introduction of a unified “Eurasian SCO Transit Window” based on the principle of “one document – one inspection”;

— local employment program with a quota of at least 60% for local specialists in infrastructure projects;

— development of a roadmap for greening SCO transport corridors.

Event also recognized participants in the nominations of Best Delegate, Best Advisor, and Best Position Paper.

This Model SCO  became one of the projects implemented by SCOLAR Almaty Candidate Hub as part of its hub-opening process. based on KAU. It provided participants with an opportunity to practice multilateral diplomacy, international negotiations, and discussions on cooperation within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.
